Have you heard? There is a brand new FightCamp event!
Due to be held on the 28th to the 29th of April 2018, in Ripley, Surrey, FightCamp Skirmish will be a fun added extra to the HEMA calendar.

Over the two days there will be a number of classes, demonstrations and traders.
There will even be the opportunity to have a go with projectiles!
Let’s start by taking a look at the classes.
FightCamp Skirmish Classes
Classes will include smallsword, sabre, rapier, longsword, langemesser, sword and buckler, pugilism and even javelin throwing!
Smallsword – Black Boar/London Historical Fencing Club
Susan Kirk will be teaching a class on Anglo-French smallsword.
Fiore’s Longsword – The Exiles
Luke Ireland will be running a class on Fiore dei Liberi’s longsword.
Leckuchner’s Langemesser – York School of Defence
The first class to announce is Chris Halpin and Lauren Ireland (York School of Defence) teaching techniques from Leckuchner’s langemesser.
Sword and Buckler – School of the Sword
Pim and Fran Terminiello will run a class on 16th Century Bolognese sword and buckler.
Hutton’s Grips And Closes – Schola Gladiatoria
Lucy Easton will be running a sabre class. Focussing on Hutton’s grips and closes from The Swordsman.
Rapier from Livre des Leçons – The Renaissance Sword Club
Rob Runacres will be teaching a class on single rapier. From the ‘Livre des Leçons’, attributed to Pedro de Heredia.
Victorian bayonet drill and Martini-Henry rifle handling
Members of the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment re-enactment society will run through some Victorian bayonet drill and Martini-Henry rifle handling.
Napoleonic era British Sabre – Schola Gladiatoria
Colin Fieldhouse will run a class on Napoleonic era British sabre.
Melee Games – Riddle of Steel
Mark Gilbert will be teaching melee tactics and running melee games
Pugilism – English Martial Arts Academy
Martin Austwick will run a class on 18th & 19th Century British pugilism.
Medieval Javelin – Schola Gladiatoria
Matt Easton will run a workshop and fun competition on the use of the medieval javelin.
Longsword – AHA
Keith Farrell will be running a class on longsword.
We will have two experts in their field demonstrating their skills.
Paul Binns – sword maker
The legendary Paul Binns will be trading and demonstrating, hopefully with forging demonstrations.
English Warbows – Medieval Arrows
Will Sherman will be demonstrating and talking about English warbows and arrows.
There will also be a couple of traders, giving you the opportunity to shop for HEMA equipment and antiques!
Easton Antique Arms
Matt Easton will be bringing several antique swords to sell.
